50 Cent to tour with Fall Out Boy

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Rapper 50 Cent will be performing a select number of Fall Out Boy concerts during the bands ongoing “Believers Never Die Part Deux” tour. The multi-platinum selling artist will join Fall Out Boy at what has so far been announced at five dates. The union has been making noise, and 50 Cent Fall Out Boy tickets are really hot right now.

50 Cent and Fall Out Boy will perform together for the first time in Denver, Colorado, a show that is scheduled for April 14. Fiddy will also join Fall Out Boy during their April 17 show in Dallas, the next day, April 18 in Houston, a show in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 24 and the last show scheduled so far in Columbia, Maryland on April 25.

And that is not the only dates 50 Cent has scheduled, as he will be performing a few times this spring. Fifty fans near Irvine, California are buying 50 Cent Bamboozle tickets to see him at the festival, scheduled for April 4. And on May 5, 50 Cent will be performing in Rochester, NY. 50 Cent Rochester tickets are pretty big, so if you are in the area you definitely want to check it out.

“This will be a major moment in music history,” said 50 Cent in an MTV interview. “Joining forces with Fall Out Boy, one of the most dynamic rock bands in the industry, will be an exciting and historic event for rock and hip-hop,” said 50.

“We’ve been fans of 50 since we heard ‘Wanksta’ in ’8 Mile,’” said Fall Out Boy bassist/vocalist Pete Wentz in the MTV interview. “We’ve wanted to do something with him for awhile, and having him out on the tour is gonna take the show to a whole new level. It’s exciting to bring two different genres together and give the fans a new experience,” said Wentz.

Of course 50 Cent isn’t the first rapper to cross over to rock music. Of course Aerosmith and Run DMC are credited with being the first to join forces. Jay-Z has also been known to cross genres, teaming up with not only Linkin Park, but also performing with Phish a few times.

50 Cent fans are eagerly anticipating his fourth album, “Before I Self Destruct,” scheduled for a spring release. Fifty has also said he want to release a second album in 2009. And that won’t be the only album being dropped under the Shady-Aftermath label. Hip Hop fans are well aware that both Eminem and Dr. Dre are working on their first albums in quite some time. It should be an exciting year for Shady-Aftermath fans, and in fact hip hop fans in general.

Final TI concerts before artist heads to jail

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Grammy Award winning rapper TI is heading into the final stretch of the 2009 TI and has only a handful of dates left before he begins serving a one year sentence for weapons charges. T.I. is heading into his last concerts before beginning to serve his one-year sentence for weapons charges. He only has a few hip hop shows left, so if you can get out there you might want to look into it.

TI last performance before entering jail takes place on March 15 at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX. You can be sure that show is going to be off the chain, and there are tons of people looking at getting those TI tickets. Other TI shows include a February 26 event at Cricket arena in Charlotte, NC, a show on February 28 at St. Pete Times Forum, St. Petersburg, FL, a March 7 appearance at Cobo Arena in Detroit, MI, and a March 13 set at Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

TI’s imprisonment is a result of a 2007 arrest at the BET Hip-Hop Awards show. Federal authorities arrested him hours before the show started. TI would eventually be charged with two felonies — possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. It seems like TI was arrested for trying to buy guns from a dude that was working with the Feds, a “cooperating witness,” as court documents referred him. That dude had been arrested a few days earlier and leaned on to expose other players, the bigger the better. TI eventually pleaded guilty to US federal weapons charges. He will serve a year in jail, with his term beginning in March 2009 after he has completed 1,000 hours of community service.

It seems like TI is hoping he can use the time in the can to work on his career. As he told MTV, “while I’m there, I’ll be able to strategize my comeback,” saying that he would not “just be sitting still doing nothing.” That’s good news for TI fans, as you know that he is going to have to hot s— cookin’ when he comes out. He’ll have a year to work out what he wants to do next, as well as thinking about how what types of a hip hop show he wants to put on.

As of January 2009, T.I. has had nine Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 singles, with three of them reaching number one (“My Love” with Justin Timberlake, “Whatever You Like”, and “Live Your Life” featuring Rihanna).
